Signage Playlist settings explained

Console settings

  1. Installation name: Edit the installation name that will be displayed in AppsInstallations
  2. Add to group: Change the installation group it belongs to and will be shown in AppsInstallations
  3. Multi-language support: Lets you set multiple languages, not relevant for Signage Playlist

  1. Version: Select a specific app version for your installation

General settings

  1. Show only first active trigger: By default, if multiple trigger conditions are met at the same time, the content for each trigger will be combined into a single playlist. If you select this option however, only the first matched trigger will play its content.
  2. Capture media events: Treats media plays as events and logs them in analytics. Logged media events counts against your Signals consumption.

Triggers

  1. Add: Creates a new trigger for your playlist. A trigger will have its own content that will play only if the conditions of the trigger are met
  2. Type: Select the condition that will trigger the content to play
  3. Datetime: Set start and end date and time during which selected content will play
  4. Date: Set start and end date during which selected content will play
  5. Time: Set start and end time during the day for the content to play
  6. Day: Select specific days of week to play the content
  7. Weather: Select weather conditions that will trigger the content
  8. Temperature minimum: Content will play only if temperature drops to or below defined temperature
  9. Temperature maximum: Content will play only if temperature reaches or exceeds defined temperature
  10. Add: Add trigger items (content) to your Trigger, and create a dedicated playlist of content that will run during the defined conditions

Datetime trigger

  1. Start date and time: Set the start date and time when the content within this trigger will play
  2. End date and time: Set the end date and time when the content within this trigger will play

Date trigger

  1. Start date: Starting with this date, the content under this Trigger will play
  2. End date: The content added to this Trigger will stop playing on set date

Time trigger

  1. Start time: Start time during the day when the content added to this trigger will play
  2. End time: This time defines the end point for the playtime of the content in this trigger

  1. Day: Select one or more days of the week, during which custom content will play

  1. City: Set the location for weather information
  2. Condition: Set one or more weather conditions

Minimum temperature trigger

  1. City: Set the location for weather information
  2. Minimum temperature: If the temperature goes above this value, the trigger is active

  1. City: Set the location for weather information

Default items

  1. Add: Creates a new default item for your playlist. A Signage Playlist needs to have at least one default item set up in order to work correctly.

Content

  1. Item type: You can select media (images, videos) or have a GridApp application as part of your Signage Playlist installation
  2. Add tag: Optional item you can attach to any media or GridApp content item, to enrich the analytics events so that content performance can be sliced and analyzed by whatever categories matter to the business. Tags in Signage Playlist should not be confused with Console-level tags, which allow for more fine-tuned targetting using the separate Content Player application for advanced content management.
  3. Remove a tag: Click the trash bin icon to remove a tag
  4. Pick an assett: Set or replace an existing media item
  5. Duration: If you select an image file or a GridApp as a playlist content item, you need to set the duration which will determine how long it will stay on the screen before playing the next content item
  6. Remove an item: Click the trash bin icon to remove an item
  7. Reorder items: Click the up or down arrows to reorder items in a playlist

Save options

  1. Auto Deploy: If selected, changes will be saved, a build will be created and automatically deployed to connected devices
  2. Environment: Select the deployment environment
  3. Save all changes: Save your current configuration
