# Troubleshooting Smart Fitting Room

> Diagnose and resolve common Smart Fitting Room issues with RFID readers, tag matching, connectivity, and Bring to me requests.

## No items are shown on screen when they are brought into the fitting room

The screen shows only the tags that the RFID reader edge app reads. Check the reader connection first.

1. Check the RFID reader logs with `docker logs rfid` on the device, or `phy dev logs --follow --timestamps <dev> rfid` from the CLI. A working reader logs `Found zebra device`, then `Zebra device connected`. It then logs a `Tag: appear` line for every tag it reads
2. If the logs show `Login Error`, check that the **Username** and **Password** in the RFID reader edge app settings match the ones set on the reader
3. Check that the **Reader IP address** in the RFID reader edge app settings matches the IP address of the physical reader
4. If the reader is found but no tags appear, check the reader's web interface. The HTTP Post endpoint must be `http://<phyos-device-ip-address>:3001/zebra`. All four statuses under **Zebra IoT Connector** → **Connection** must show **Connected**
5. Check that the RFID reader edge app is connected to the same device as Smart Fitting Room
6. If tags are read only when they are very close to the antenna, lower **Minimum RSSI** or raise **TX power** in the RFID reader edge app settings

See [Prepare RFID reader for Smart Fitting Room](https://learn.phygrid.com/smart-fitting-room/prepare-rfid-reader-for-smart-fitting-room/) and [Install and configure RFID reader peripheral](https://learn.phygrid.com/smart-fitting-room/install-and-configure-rfid-reader-peripheral/) for the full setup.

## Some items are shown, but a specific item is not

The screen shows an item only if its tag matches the EAN or UPC of a product in **Content** → **Products**. The app skips tags that don't match, without a message.

1. Find the tag's EPC in the `Tag: appear` lines of the RFID reader logs. Check that it matches the value `genepc` returns for the product's **EAN** or **UPC**
2. Check that the product in **Content** → **Products** has that **EAN** or **UPC** value. See [Edit or delete a product](https://learn.phygrid.com/products/edit-or-delete-a-product/)
3. Check that the product belongs to the installation's space, or to one of the **Additional Spaces** in the Smart Fitting Room settings
4. If **Product Types coverage** is set, check that the product's [product type](https://learn.phygrid.com/glossary/#product-type) is included
5. Restart the app after you fix the tag or the product data. Until then, the app ignores a tag it couldn't match earlier

See [Prepare RFID tags for your products](https://learn.phygrid.com/smart-fitting-room/prepare-rfid-tags-for-your-products/) for how to encode tags.

## The screen shows "Device is offline"

The app has lost its connection to PhyGrid. Until it is back online, it can't find products or send requests.

1. Check that the device is online in **Operations** → **Devices**
2. Check the network connection of the device
3. Restart the device if it stays offline after the network is restored

## The **Bring to me** button is missing, disabled, or shows "Out of stock"

1. If the button shows **Out of stock**, check the selected variant's inventory in the installation's space. With **Inventory availability check** on, customers can request only variants with stock in this space
2. Check that the customer has selected a size or other variant. The button is disabled until a variant is selected
3. Check that the selected variant is not already in the fitting room or already requested. Both disable the button for that variant
4. Check that the product's type is not listed in **Disabled Product Types request**

## "Bring to me" shows "Ooops, something went wrong, Please try again" or requests don't reach staff

Each request goes to the Tasks installation selected in the Smart Fitting Room settings. This message means the request couldn't be sent.

1. Check that **Tasks App** → **Queue** is set in the Smart Fitting Room settings. Without it, no requests can be sent
2. Check that **Tasks App** → **Queue** points to the same Tasks installation that staff have open
3. Check that staff are logged in to the Tasks URL from that installation
4. If requests disappear when the screen returns to idle, check **Clear tickets on idle timeout** in the Smart Fitting Room settings

See [Manage requests in Tasks](https://learn.phygrid.com/tasks/manage-requests-in-tasks/) for how staff handle requests, and [Troubleshooting Tasks](https://learn.phygrid.com/tasks/troubleshooting-tasks/) for Tasks issues.
