How to verify Tizen version
When setting up a brand new Samsung TV, it's essential to verify the installed version of Tizen OS. Not all new TVs come with the latest version, like the popular 32inch QM32R-B model.
How to identify the installed Tizen OS version on TV:
- Power on your Samsung TV and navigate to the home screen
- Using your remote control, go to the Settings menu
- Within the Settings menu, locate the "System" or "Device" section
- Look for "About TV" or "Software Information"
- Select that option to access detailed information about your TV's software, including the Tizen OS version
How to connect a Tizen device to an installation
Before you begin, make sure your network allows access to https://screen.phygrid.com/tizen/4.0.2, if it doens't load please ask your IT team to allow access to *.phygrid.com.
Tizen 7.0
Connecting Tizen devices is recommended only for Content Player and Signage installations
In Console
- Navigate to Apps → Installations
- Find your installation, open, and go to Devices tab
- Click Connect a device
- Click Setup a new device
- Select Samsung Tizen TV as the device type
On the Samsung TV
- Go to main menu and Menu → System → Play Via → Activate Custom App
- Go to Home → App Management → Install Custom App and enter the following URL: https://screen.phygrid.com/tizen/4.0.2
- Select OK to save
- The Phygrid Screen app should be installed, and a 6 letter code will be shown shortly
Back in Console
- Enter the code from the TV to Six letter code or device serial
- Click Connect device
- Your new device will then be shown in the list of installation's devices
Use the TV remote or keyboard arrow keys to rotate the orientation of the Tizen TV screen
Tizen 6.5
Connecting Tizen devices is recommended only for Content Player and Signage installations
In Console
- Navigate to Apps → Installations
- Find your installation, open, and go to Devices tab
- Click Connect a device
- Click Setup a new device
- Select Samsung Tizen TV as the device type
On the Samsung TV
- Go to main menu and select Play via > URL Launcher
- Press Home button and select URL Launcher settings
- Select Install Web App, and input the URL without the quotes: "https://screen.phygrid.com/tizen/4.0.2"
- Select OK to save the URL Launcher information
- The Phygrid Screen app should be installed, and a 6 letter code will be shown shortly
Back in Console
- Enter the code from the TV to Six letter code or device serial
- Click Connect device
- Your new device will then be shown in the list of installation's devices

Tizen 4.x

On the Samsung TV
- Go to main menu and select Play via > URL Launcher

- Select OK to save the URL Launcher information
- The Phygrid Screen app should be installed, and a 6 letter code will be shown shortly
